To me, A girl boss is someone who knows how to take on life’s challenges and use them to become successful. She never gives up and works hard, but knows how to take a break. She inspires people around her as she is also wise and aims to always become the better version of herself.
This is why I am striving to be a girl boss. I know that becoming one will be challenging, but in time and with continuous implementation of these habits, I believe I will become one and I believe you’ll be too.
1. Take Action
There are times where we would just feel stuck in life and would wonder how to make our dreams turn into reality. I’ve often reflected on it and I found that the most effective solution to that is to take action. We create our reality and where in charge of what will happen in our life. If we truly want to make a significant change in our lives, we have to take action and move forward towards our goals.
It may be hard to start taking action at first when you can’t stop over-thinking things. But just remember this, everything will be alright as long as you believe in yourself and focus on what you do. Don’t mind what other people will say, just focus on your own business, and step by step everything will fall into place.
2. Always Invest In Yourself
Investing in yourself is the best investment decision you’ll ever make. As it is always worth it to invest in acquiring knowledge or skills that you can use to improve yourself and become a better person. An example of this is when you want to build a business or learn a new skill, the best possible way that you can do is to invest in courses. That will teach you about the industry and will guide you on how to become successful. Just note that investing in yourself isn’t selfish, you are just helping yourself in making your life better, and everyone else around you.
3. Think Positive
To think positively, you have to identify negative thoughts and replace them with positive ones. It will take some time, but with continuous practice, it will have a positive change in your life. Where everything would be less challenging and you’ll start to feel happier.
4. Be Better Than Who You Are Yesterday
Don’t always focus and compare yourself with other people. Every one of us is unique, and we all have our weaknesses and strengths. That comparing yourself with other people isn’t fair. Instead of focusing on other people, focus on yourself.
Learn how to become a better person than who you are yesterday. Educate yourself, learn a new skill, spend time with your loved ones, help people, and even pamper yourself. With this, you’ll feel better because little by little you’re becoming a better person.
5. Don’t Be Egoistic
Having a huge ego will overshadow everything, and will force you to make everything about yourself. It will also take away your happiness and will make people stay away from you. Which is why before it’s too late, get out of your own head. Be humble and stay sober, when recognition, money, and success are present. Stay grounded and always reach for stars, but never forget where you came from and the people who have helped you.
6. Take Care Of Yourself
Working hard is important in achieving your goals and dreams. However, working too much makes you forget to take care of yourself and it might lead to burnout. As much as possible don’t overwork yourself and try to keep things balanced. Don’t forget to relax and take care of yourself because your needs are important too. By doing this you can ensure that you stay healthy and motivated to make your life more purposeful.

7. Prioritize Your Important Task
Knowing all your important tasks can improve your productivity and time management. Try your best to identify which one should you do first based on its difficulty and deadline. That way when you already know what task to do, you can focus on it and in the meantime, forget about the less important task.
8. Stay On Budget
With social media, it’s so easy to spend that it became so hard on sticking to our monthly budget. However, giving in would not solve anything and overspending can result in a lot of debt that can be stressful.
To prevent stressful situations, you need to live within your means. Know your income and have savings. If you want to buy an item so badly, save aside a small percentage from your monthly income, and once you’ve saved enough, that’s the time that you can purchase the things that you want.
9. Five by Five Rule
The Five by five rule is if it’s not gonna matter in 5 years, don’t spend more than 5 minutes upset by it. By following this rule, it allows you to stop worrying about the little things and be able to focus on what matters. Don’t let negativity foster in your mind and heart, let it go and move on. This way you’ll be able to focus on the present and be an unbothered queen.
10. Spend Your Free Time Wisely
Time is what most of us take for granted, that we never really realized that it is very precious until it’s too late. Truth is time never waits for anyone. This is why you need to learn how to manage your time wisely and make the most out of every moment.
11. Embrace Failure
Don’t spend time dwelling on your mistakes because failure is not the end. Be proud of yourself for trying because without trying at all you’ll never learn and grow as a person. It’s ok to not be ok, but sooner or later you have to move on and learn from what you did wrong. Stand up and look forward to the days ahead of you, because there will always be room to improve and be better.
12. Don’t Compromise Your Sleep
We all have things going on in our lives that keep us busy most of the time, that often times we have to compromise sleep just to finish it. However, compromising sleep can lead to poor health outcomes and mental health problems. That you won’t be able to focus on the things that you’re doing and will always feel tired. This is why as much as possible get around 7 to 8 hours of sleep every day. Trust me, you’ll feel more energized and you’ll look so much better.
13. Take Time to Plan
Planning out what you will be doing for the next upcoming days is so important. By doing so, it will help you get things done and will save you so much time because you already have an overview of what you’re going to do. Rather than wasting your time contemplating what task should you do next. Plus, planning is an excellent stress-management tool, since it helps you clear and organize your thoughts.
14. Accountability
No matter how scary it is we must always take responsibility for our actions and do what we can to make up for it. By doing so, you can grow and change into a better person, because you are looking for ways that you can do for things to improve. Rather than blaming other people and believing that the change must come from them.
15. Diversify Your Income
A girl boss diversifies her income; she doesn’t put all her income in one basket but instead puts it into different baskets. Why? Because by doing so you can secure and grow your money. If one fails, you don’t have to panic because you have a backup, and you won’t lose everything at once.
My advice is before investing in different investments, such as equities, cash, bonds, and property. Take your time to learn more about it and don’t rush, you must first do your research before investing. That way you’ll be able to reduce the risk because let’s face it all investments have some risk.
16. Communicate Effectively
This is very important in every aspect of life especially in business, where you don’t want to have any misunderstandings. That can lead to failure, mistrust, and sometimes lawsuits. This is why you always have to ensure that you know how to communicate effectively, that you made yourself clear and the other side understands you perfectly. By doing so you can prevent future problems, and it can create better relationships and build trust.
17. Unplug
Once a while, you need to unplug and to stay away from social media. Take time to focus on yourself and your family, and give yourself time to relax. Unplugging is a great thing because sometimes it can force you to be creative in how you spend your time. Who knows you might be able to find a new hobby and be able to experience new things.
Plus, by unplugging you’ll be able to spend more time with your family and friends. That you’ll be able to appreciate them more without always focusing on your phone whenever you’re with them.
18. Stay Organized
Staying organized can seriously change your life. It will help you stay productive and most importantly it reduces stress. If you stay organized, you don’t have to stay in a messy and disorganized room. With objects scattered all over the place that you are forced to think of them constantly. That can distract you from doing all your important tasks.
Plus, staying organized will make you feel proud of your home because you don’t have to feel the fear and anxiety of people seeing your messy room. Furthermore, you can easily keep track of what you have. You don’t have to search for an item for hours and will end up buying a new one.
19. Exercise Regularly
Exercising regularly will clear your mind and will help you de-stress after a stressful day. This is very helpful when you’re easily winded over household chores and other tasks because by regular exercise you’ll be able to increase muscle strength and endurance.
Also, when you’re having difficulty in sleeping, regular physical activity can help you fall asleep faster and get better sleep. However, don’t exercise near bedtime because you may be too energized to fall asleep.
20. Spend Time With Quality People
When you hang out with people who have a bad influence on you, you’ll also be able to acquire those bad habits if you spend most of your time with them. However, if you spend time with people who truly makes you happy, who has the same goals as you and has the motivation to work hard. You’ll also feel motivated to work hard, as you are inspired around them.
They will pull you upwards towards success, not downwards as they share the same passion and values as you. Remember to pick people wisely, as they will have a huge influence on the quality of your life.
Always look at the overall picture. Your friends don’t have to be perfect because none of us are. However, they should make you feel you and they should encourage you to become a better person. As they have your best interest at heart.
