1. Vitamin C For The Day
Vitamin C serums are widely popular for a reason. It is one of the best anti-aging ingredients that can make your skin look brighter and smoother. What’s great about it is that it is suitable for most skin types and helps fade hyperpigmentation.
I use TruSkin Vitamin C in my daily routine and it really does brighten up my skin. You can apply it once or twice per day, preferably apply it before using a moisturizer.
2. Moisturize
Moisturizers are an essential part of your skincare routine. It can help in hydrating skin and it gives a boost to your skin to repair itself and stay healthy. Using a moisturizer can also reduce the chances of skin problems, however, you must choose the right moisturizer for you.
For Dry skin, I recommend a moisturizer like Neutrogena, it is great in hydration leaving your face smooth and supple and lastly, it is lightweight. For oily and acne-prone skin, you’ll need a moisturizer that is light on the skin and is a balance between hydration and oil control. The best product I found for that is First Aid Beauty.
3. Sunscreen
A sunscreen must always be part of your skin care routine because it can protect your skin from the sun which can shield you from harmful UV rays. Which can cause premature aging, uneven skin tone, skin cancer, and sunburn.
When looking for sunscreen, make sure that the sunscreen is at least SPF 30 to provide sufficient protection for your skin. I also suggest looking for a sunscreen that is lightweight and non-greasy for comfort. Like EltaMD UV Clear Facial Sunscreen, I particularly like and recommend this product because it is super gentle and oil-free for sensitive and acne-prone skin like me.
4. Always Remove Your Makeup
No matter how tired you are, never forget to remove your makeup. Not removing your makeup will prevent your skin from renewing itself from sleep. This can cease your skin from breathing, which can lead to larger pores, cysts, and it can irritate our eyes.
When it comes to Makeup remover wipes, I recommend trying Face Halo. It is a reusable pad and it can easily remove your makeup. Plus, you can remove your makeup without increasing your carbon footprint.
5. Face Icing
Face icing is easy to do and inexpensive. It works in eliminating puffiness and is very useful in situations like when you wake up with super puffy eyes. It is also great for easing acne and reducing oiliness.
To do so, make sure to wrap four or five ice cubes with a facecloth, then massage your face in a circular motion for a minute. However, don’t use the ice directly on your face because it is way too harsh for your skin.

6. Face Masks
In just a few minutes a face mask can make your skin feel soft and look healthy. As it can hydrate your skin and enhance its elasticity. That can make your skin look youthful and result in much firmer and tighter-looking skin.
It is also a great way to treat yourself and relax. Allowing yourself to de-stress can make you look and feel better.

7. Warm Your Eyelash Curler
You probably read or saw this tip everywhere but it is effective in curling your eyelashes.
I have the type of eyelashes that no matter how I tried in curling it, it just won’t stay up for a long time, but this tip worked wonders.
The great thing about warming up your eyelash curler is that it could help your eyelash curl hold for a long time and it could make your eyelashes look curlier. If you don’t have a heater eyelash curler, you could just heat your eyelash curler with a blow dryer for a few minutes.
8. Face Mist
Face mist is more than you think. It can soothe and refresh your skin, which can fight dryness and can brighten dull skin. Plus, it is convenient and you can use it anytime when you want to refresh and hydrate your skin.
9. Tee Tree Oil For Pimples
Tea tree oil is one of the most effective ways when it comes to treating acne. That’s because it penetrates deep into the pores to remove toxins and it can also calm the swelling and inflammation of acne.
This is very useful when you have a lot of acne and can’t seem to control it. However, you should not apply tea tree oil directly to the skin without diluting it, as it can be way too harsh for your skin.
I recommend trying The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil, as it is the only tea tree oil that I found effective in treating acne. To use it, you can use 1 to 2 drops of tea tree oil, and you can mix it with your toner or with your moisturizer.
10. Don’t Pop Your Pimples
Popping the pimple can lead to scarring and it could only spread the bacteria. I know how tempting it is to just pop the pimple especially when it’s super noticeable, but it really wouldn’t do you help when you pop it.
Patience is key. As much as possible leave it alone and it will disappear on its own. There is another solution to treat acne besides tea tree oil and that is acne patches. Which is great in preventing infection that can reduce the size of your acne and can speed up the recovery. If you haven’t tried one, I totally recommend CORSYX pimple patch.
11. Invest In Skincare Rather Than Makeup
I know how beautiful can makeup make a person feel but instead of spending more on makeup, you need to invest in having beautiful skin. In the end, it will be worth the investment because it will save you more money.
12. Hair Volume
Your hair can look much better with a little bit of volume rather than just looking straight up flat. By doing so, you can try to condition your hair only at the ends because when you condition your hair from top to the bottom it can make it look flat.
13. Air Dry Hair
Air drying hair can take a lot of time especially when you have long hair. However, when you air-dry your hair frequently, you can help in preventing the negative effect of heat damage that can ruin your hair.
14. Less Is More In Makeup
Makeup is a really fun way to express yourself, and it can highlight your best features. However, wearing less makeup can benefit your skin more because it allows your skin to breathe and can make you feel lighter. Too much makeup can lead to clogged pores which can cause breakouts, and sometimes even after washing your face, makeup can leave behind residue.
15. Don’t Touch Your Face
Touching your face is a big no-no unless your hands are clean. By touching your face, it can spread oil and bacteria from your hands to your face. That can cause breakouts and sicknesses that can affect our health and other people’s as well.
I unknowingly do it too when I’m bored and it is tempting to not touch your face especially when it became a habit, but we have to be aware of it for us to stop touching our faces.
16. One Product For Multiple Purposes
It is convenient to have one product for multiple purposes. It can save you money and it can save so much space when you’re carrying a small bag or when you are traveling light. A good example of this is a cream tint for your lips and cheeks, like the Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge.
17. Putting Powder Over Mascara
I discovered this trick from a friend and it really does work. It can make your eyelashes look bolder and fuller.
To do so, apply the first coat of mascara to your eyelashes, then after that apply a small amount of powder to your lashes. Lastly, apply another layer of mascara to your lashes, you can also use a spoolie to fix it and comb out any clumps.
18. Wear Perfume
Wearing perfume enhances your mood and finding your signature perfume is a must as it represents yourself. Your fragrance can make a lasting impression on people and can trigger memories of you when they smell something similar.
19. Lip Scrub
To those who always have dry and chapped lips like me, then a lip scrub is a must. As it is a great way to moisturize and exfoliate dead and dark skin cells. Making your lips soft and kissable!
Also, a lip scrub can be used to prep your lips so that the lipstick that you’ll be wearing would apply smoothly. Would totally recommend Burt’s Bees Lip Scrub, since it’s super effective in moisturizing dry lips, leaving them smooth and soft.
20. Drink Water
Always drink water, it is very important for your overall health. One of the benefits of drinking water is that it can fight off illnesses like constipation and kidney stones. It can also hydrate and brighten your skin.
Remember to prioritize your health first and the rest will follow. Always carry a water bottle with you to avoid dehydration and keep track of your intake, and you should always aim for an optimum amount like 12 glasses a day.
21. Vitamin-rich Foods
Eating Vitamin-rich foods is a great way to nourish your body and to keep you healthy.
An example of this is vitamin E, A, C. Vitamin A is an antioxidant that can protect your cells from damage, Vitamin A is good got your eyes and supports a healthy immune system, and Vitamin C can lower blood pressure and improve iron absorption.
Here are some of the examples of vitamin-rich foods:
Vitamin E: Avocados, nuts, seeds
Vitamin A: Eggs, milk, carrots
Vitamin C: Oranges, strawberries. tomatoes
22. Healthy fats
Healthy Fats are essential to have energy and it can make your skin look hydrated and younger-looking. Some of the examples of healthy fats are avocados, cheese, and dark chocolate.
23. Avoid Too Much Sugar
Having the self-discipline to not eat your favorite food is hard, especially if you’re a dessert lover.
Despite that, it’s important to remember that sugar should be kept to a minimum, and eat in moderation, too much of it can lead to diseases like diabetes.
24. Sleep
When you’re very busy day and night, it’s really hard to get some sleep. However, you need to sleep to prevent the effects of sleep loss like skin aging, and weak immunity.
It is important to prioritize your health first if the deadline is not tomorrow, rest first then continue the rest for the next day.
25. Exercise
If you want to make your skin look healthy and have overall good health you must exercise. I know how hard it is to have a routine where you’ll exercise daily but you need to try.
It’s so easy to just sleep and eat without exercising, but it won’t make us achieve the change we want to make. Unless we take an action towards that goal.
26. Keep calm
It’s so hard to keep calm especially when you are in a stressful situation. However, you need to learn how to de-stress because it will show on your face. Some examples of the causes of stress include acne, wrinkles, bags under your eyes, and hair loss.
To de-stress, you can try inhaling and exhaling when you are struggling to keep it together. Also, find time to relax, don’t overwhelm yourself with your busy schedule. Lastly, maintain a healthy lifestyle. Get plenty of sleep and exercise.
27. Love Yourself
Truth be told, you can never truly see yourself as a beautiful person if you don’t love yourself. Learn how to love yourself first, appreciate everything about yourself rather than looking at yourself negatively, and comparing yourself to other people.
It takes time and practice but it is definitely worth it as you’ll be the best version of yourself.
