Glow up means becoming the best version of yourself. Which is possible by taking care of your mental and physical health.

Others may think that glow-up is all about becoming fit and having healthy skin. However, glowing up has a different meaning to each one of us.
Although we all have different meanings of a glow-up, the main thing is glow-up is all about becoming your best self. This does not happen overnight and requires hard work, but all of it is worth it because small steps can lead to big changes. That you’ll be proud of.
1. Invest in Yourself
Don’t hesitate when you want to invest in yourself because the best investment you can make, is in you. You can invest in books, that will not only motivate you but will also help you learn new things and expand your knowledge. Additionally, I suggest starting investing. Start thinking about your future and invest in it because it will allow you to take control of your future towards financial freedom.
2. Love Yourself
Learning to love yourself is not an easy task and it takes time. It requires you to stop seeking love and validation from others and to start accepting yourself. It could be difficult at first, but when you overcome the challenges, you become the best version of yourself. Learning to love yourself will allow you to grow, see your potential, and will begin your self-discovery journey.

3. Surround Yourself with Positive People
It’s always important to surround yourself with positive people. Who you can always talk to and will support you along the way. As much as possible, stick to the people who will inspire and empower you to strive for the best. Avoid those who can’t be happy for your success and those who are overly negative as it will affect your mindset.
4. Positive Self Talk and Affirmations
Positive Self-talk is very beneficial because it influences what you feel about yourself. It boosts your confidence and prevents you from having pessimistic thinking patterns that could affect your everyday life. Just remember to believe in yourself, and don’t be too harsh on yourself by only focusing on the negative sides of every situation.
5. Practice Gratitude
Practicing gratitude will make you more appreciative of the things and the people around you. You’ll become happier and more optimistic because you have a positive outlook on life. This is important because there are things that we don’t appreciate when we have them but when it is gone, that’s the time you’ll realize their value. So, let’s appreciate life as it happens.
6. Take a Break
Good things indeed come to those who work hard. However, working too much can lead to burning out, causing you to lose motivation and it could also lead to illnesses from fatigue and stress. This is why taking a break is important, don’t feel guilty when taking a break, because it is all for your mental and physical health. In the meantime, forget about your tasks and just relax.
7. Get Rid of Bad Habits
To get rid of bad habits, you’ll need to replace them with helpful ones which is not an easy task. As a matter of fact, it can take anywhere from 18 to 254 days to get rid of your bad habits and form a new one. It may take a long time, but don’t give up! Believe and be kind to yourself. Just remember all the benefits you’ll get from forming a good habit.
8. Set a Goal
Whether big or small, goals will help you stay motivated because you’ll want to achieve them. It will also help you determine what you want in life because in setting goals, you’ll think about what you want in life and what are the necessary steps to achieve your big goal.
9. Listen to Podcasts
Podcasts are very informative and listening to them could give you some of the best concrete advice for your personal development. Plus, you can easily tune in when you are doing something else, and it is completely free! Here are some podcasts that I listen to.

10. Mediate
Mediation has a lot of benefits. It can reduce stress and it trains your mind to focus. Therefore, improving your attention span and clarity of thinking.
11. Get Rid of Negative Thoughts
If you are constantly belittling yourself, saying you aren’t beautiful, you’re not good enough, and you’re such a failure. You are slowly but surely believing it as an absolute truth because what you are thinking and telling yourself is what your mind believes. Which will change the way you feel and how you think.
To prevent that from happening, change your negative thoughts into something positive, like when you wake up tell yourself that you are beautiful and enough. Keep this up until it becomes a habit and I assure you it will make a significant change in your life.
12. Work on Your Confidence
Working on your confidence is extremely important because it can improve your life. Being confident will increase your self-worth because you give value to yourself and you believe in your abilities. Plus, confidence can give you peace of mind and less anxiety.
However, how can you increase your confidence? And the answer to that is two ways that I found effective. One, stay away from social media like Instagram. It can raise doubts about self-worth by comparing yourself with other people. But in reality, a lot of people only post their perfect moments to create an illusion that they have perfect lives. So, don’t feel inferior to someone else’s life because no one is perfect.
Two, don’t care what others think. Other people may try to bring you down by saying that you can’t do it or your goal is too big to accomplish, but no matter what don’t listen to them. Be resolute and keep on going towards your dream. Even if it fails, at least you’ll know that you gave it your all. You’ll learn a lot from failures and you can always try again but this time you are more knowledgeable.
13. Know Your Why
A lot of us wonder to ourselves what is our “why”. In searching for it some are successful and some are still searching for it. This is important because knowing your why will give you a sense of purpose or clarity in life. Where you are fueled with a passion to achieve your goal.
Furthermore, in finding your “why” it is always important to consider what makes you happy.
14. Be Curious
Be curious and stay curious as it makes your mind observant and improves your creativity. Making your mind open to new ideas that you’ll be able to see different opportunities that are not normally visible due to lack of curiously.
15. Wardrobe Glow Up
It’s time to make room for staple pieces that will improve your overall appearance and elevate your looks. In doing a wardrobe glow-up, I suggest investing in staple pieces that you can wear over and over again, and match with anything. I also have been doing a wardrobe glow-up, since most of my old clothes are no longer suitable for my age and I really want to change my clothing style that revolves around staple pieces, since it’s more practical.
I’ve also realized, how important it is to know your body type. So, I suggest before doing a wardrobe glow-up, know your body type first. To know which kind of tops and bottoms will flatter your figure.

16. Find a New Hobby
Hobbies are meant to bring you joy and enrich your life. Trying out something new will help you discover new skills that will reduce your boredom and will give you a new perspective on life. Plus, having hobbies will make you more interesting in the story and experiences you can share with others.
17. Workout
Regularly exercising will help you combat health conditions, improve your mental health, and will help you look and feel your best. You can go out for a walk every morning or follow workout videos on Youtube.
18. Prioritize Sleep
Sleep is important for maintaining your overall well-being. Not getting enough sleep can cause health problems like cancer, diabetes, and so much more. This is why you must prioritize sleep above all because how can you function and achieve your goals if you are experiencing numerous health problems that will impact your work. Plus, if you are aiming for a glow sleep is a must to look good.
19. Reduce Your Intake of Junk Food
As much as possible reduce your intake of junk food because it contains high calories in the form of fat and sugar. junk foods such as soda, candy, and chips contain little to no nutrition that is beneficial to your body. Too much of it will lead to obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and other chronic diseases.
20. Have a Skincare Routine
Having a skincare routine is not just for your appearance but is essential for your skin health. Taking care of it will make your skin look healthier and younger as you get older. It also serves as a preventive measure to prevent skin problems such as wrinkles, age spots, and skin cancer.
21. Drink More Water
Your body depends on water to survive. Making sure that you drink at least 6 cups of water a day will keep your body healthy by maintaining your blood pressure, preventing kidney damage and so much more. Plus, upping your water intake can even improve the elasticity of your skin and reduce acne.
22. Eat Healthier Food
Choosing to eat healthy foods like vegetables. whole grains and proteins have a big impact on your glow-up. Improving your overall health, and giving you a better mood that will affect your happiness and relationships with other people.
23. Work on Your Personal Hygiene
In improving your personal hygiene, you are not only doing it for yourself but for social reasons as well. To leave good impressions and to avoid any embarrassing situations that involve your personal hygiene.
Having good personal hygiene is done by making sure you brush your teeth regularly, clean your nails. Daily bathing, and good hand hygiene.
24. Take Care of Your Hair
Your hair can greatly impact your mood and self-esteem. Therefore, it is necessary to take care of it. To do so, commit to a long-term hair routine and rinse with cold water. I know that we all love our warm and hot shoes but washing your hair with cold water will help boost the shine and retain the moisture of your hair.
25. Get a New Haircut or Try a New Hair Color
Your hair is a way to express yourself, where you can try out different hair cuts and hair colors to express your individuality. Plus, don’t be afraid to try out something new because it will help you step outside of your comfort zone, which will help you be more confident.
26. Wear Sunscreen
Using a sunscreen that is SPF 30 or higher will protect you from harmful UV Rays that cause early signs of aging and skin cancer. Additionally, wearing sunscreen will protect you from sunburn and will help you maintain an even skin tone.
27. Improve Your Posture
Good posture is not only important for your overall health but it is also important in making a good impression on others. For this reason, that good posture radiate confidence and will make you look professional.
28. Experiment with Makeup
Wearing makeup is a true confidence enhancer and it is also a great way to express yourself. It’s a great idea to experiment with makeup and see what kind of makeup style suits you the most.
