Have you ever had a moment where you just felt completely powerless and unqualified? Because I did. Until I realized, that the biggest obstacle is not the people who keep telling you that “you can’t do it” But it’s you who keeps telling yourself that “I can’t do it”. Which is why you need to stand strong and believe in yourself.
I hope that these tips can help you on your journey to believing in yourself. Remember, that with every success that you’ll make, you’ll also face failure but it’s a matter of courage of facing it head-on and by that, you need to believe in your capabilities.
1. Think Positive
You have the power to create new beliefs that can change your life forever. You can create anything you desire; the only one ever stopping you is you.
For example, when you say “I can’t do that” or “that’s impossible”, you must replace those thoughts with positive ones. Go throughout your day repeating, “I can do it, I can do it, I can do it” The more you repeat it the more you believe it.
2. Take Action
If you want to achieve something, decide to do it and take action. Don’t wait until the next day, do it now because days will pass, and most likely you’ll procrastinate and you’ll just invite self-doubt in.
Trust that you have everything right now to be successful. All it takes is for you to have the determination and a deep faith that you have a genius inside you and a unique gift.
3. Take Small Steps
“Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds you plant”
– Robert Louis Stevenson
It is ok to take small steps, take your time, and mind your own business. Don’t compare yourself with other people because everyone has their own pace. The most important thing is to believe in yourself and learn how you can improve yourself.
Start with a smaller goal that is easily achievable, then work your way up. Learn to appreciate every moment of your life because success without appreciation is no success at all.
4. Don’t Give In To Fear
Give in your fears and your world will get smaller every year. Which is why you need to believe in yourself that you are capable of overcoming your fear. Try to fight against your fear and do something that you never thought you’d do.
By doing so, you’re working on your self-confidence, because when you have confidence in yourself, you value yourself more and you believe that you are capable of something more.
5. Accept Mistakes
Mistakes can hurt a lot especially when you’ve invested so much effort and time. It can also pull you downwards and make you think “I shouldn’t have done that”, and “I can’t do it anymore”. However, instead of thinking negatively, you need to keep yourself together.
Analyze first what you did wrong because mistakes are opportunities to learn something new. Every time you make a mistake, you always learn something about yourself and if you truly learn from it, you’ll gain priceless wisdom.
6. Speak Up
“Speak your mind even if your voice shakes.”
– Maggie Kuhn
Don’t be afraid to speak up for yourself and assert your boundaries. Other people wouldn’t know that you don’t like it unless you speak up and don’t allow anyone to ever disrespect and devalued you. Because you are more than that.
You might resist speaking up for yourself because your afraid that other people might dislike you, but those fears will only be leading to hurting ourselves. Don’t strive every minute in making everyone happy but instead make yourself feel happy.
7. Reach For Your Goal
When you have a goal in life or you want to do something, just go for it. Strive and go for that goal of yours, that you have been putting off so long because you think that it might be difficult or impossible.
You’ll never know unless you try and even if you don’t succeed in reaching that goal, it’s ok you’ll still managed to learn a valuable lesson because you tried and experienced something new from all that effort.
